Thrilling, fascinating, woo, too cold are words that describe our #1 UIL ranked drumline.  Wheatley High School's Drumline won first place at the Houston Independent School District UIL Drumline Competition held on January 28, 2010.  Congratulations to the drummers and their sponsor, Mr. Vurnell Ford.

The Lady Wildcats of Wheatley High School won first place in the Corpus Christi Basketball Tournament held during the Winter Break. Ashley Howard, #20, was named MVP of the tournament. As of January 17, 2010, the Lady Wildcats are 16 – 1 overall. The Houston Chronicle has the team ranked number 7 in the greater Houston area. Coach Dedreck Carr has the team focused and are preparing to go deep into the playoffs.

Despite losing a couple of players to D-1 schools and acquiring a new head coach, Wheatley High School Basketball program continues to shine.   As of January 17, 2010, the Wildcats are 5-0 in district play.  The team now has sole possession of first place in District 22-4A.
